Firefighting Structural Gear Project

In June of 2023 Graham County Fire Department was awarded a $25,000 grant by the Dane G. Hansen Foundation, and a $15,000 grant by the Office of the State Fire Marshal for the Kansas Firefighter Recruitment and Safety (KFRSG) program. The remaining funds needed to complete the project was provided by the Graham County Fire Department for the purchase of new Structural Firefighter gear.

The purpose of this project was to update firefighting structural gear to National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards for the entire Graham County Fire Department. The department strives to ensure that each firefighter’s health takes precedence during an emergency and afterwards. By purchasing updated, NFPA compliant gear we are being initiative-taking in providing the ultimate protection to all our volunteer firefighters and the community we serve.

On behalf of the Graham County Fire Department, the firefighters would like to thank Dane G. Hansen, the Office of the State Fire Marshal, and the Graham County Commissioners for helping us to complete this valuable project.
